True Cold Air Intake

 

Zabteck is now proud to offer two True Cold Air Intake Kits. One is for the person who already has an aftermarket, open air filter intake and the other is a complete kit from the throttle body to the fender filter. None of the kits come with the MAF, you are to re-use your OEM.

The filter that comes with this kit is a washable, reusable, non-oil type filter so you will never have to
replace your air filter as long as you don't damage it.

**NOTE: The complete kit has two options. One allows you to utilize your stock breather tube and the other allows the installation of the Zabteck Breather Bypass Kit. This prevents you from having to plug or cap the front intake tube when installing the Zabteck Breather Bypass Kit. This kit is not included and must be purchased separately.**

**NOTE: The tube supplied with the add-on kit is polished aluminum and that this kit is designed to go from the MAF through the fender, to the new air filter. Not supplied with this kit is the MAF or the tube going from the MAF to the throttle body. You are to re-use your existing intake tube going from the MAF to the throttle body whether it is aftermarket or the stock rubber tube.**

This true cold air intake kit will eliminate the engine from receiving any of the under hood hot air temperatures.
All of the other open air filter kits get all of their air from under the hood. Through testing we have found that this kit kept the intake air temperature at a maximum of 2 degrees above the outside air. We found the open air filters generated intake temperatures well above the ambient air temperature. On a 40 degree day we recorded intake air temperatures up in the 60 degree range with the open air filter style intake. This true cold air intake recorded temperatures of no more than 42 degrees.

Since our filter is located high inside the fender well it is well protected against rain, mud and the other elements. We are so confident in our intake that Todd used his Sport Trac in the videos below. You can clearly see the depth of the water he is driving though as well as the large splashes from the tires.

Complete Under Hood Intake

Since receiving many requests we are now offering a complete under hood intake. This intake is like our true cold air intake except it is for the person who does not want to cut into their fender. The entire intake in under the hood in the engine compartment. It is only available in the color shown above and with a blue filter. This kit includes a bracket to support the intake tube which you can bend yourself depending on your own setup. Just like the true cold air intake you have the option of using the stock breather tube or the Zabteck Breather Bypass Kit. Make sure to let us know when ordering. If you purchase this kit and decide to convert it to our true cold air intake later on, you can buy the additional pieces needed to make it a true cold air kit.

If there is the possibility of you going with a true cold air intake later on, we recommend you buy the full cold air kit now and only use the pieces needed to make it an under hood kit.
